Not getting the listing of 31531 port via netstat -an

Post by sanygup »

Hi Everyone,

Not getting the listing of 31531 port via netstat -an | grep 3153*. Only 31533 and 31538 are visible.

Have tried all possible option to start/stop DS engine and Websphere application server but with no success.

I have open all the ports in firewall required for IBM information server.

Environment deatils:

AIX 6.1, Information server 8.5, Websphere application server 7 ND and DB2 9.7.

Service tier and engine tier on same server whereas DB2 on different server.

This problem starts when I have applied firewall between Service tier and DB2.

Please help.

By default, 31531 is the port number used by the ASB Node agent. So, you need to start your ASB Node agent.

Dear istsaur,

I have tried node NodeAgents.sh start and uv -admin start with root user and dsadm respectively, but with no sucess.

Server was working fine earlier when firewal was not used although as i mentioned i have opened all the required ports for datastage.

Please help if i miss out anything.

Thanks.

Then it would seem that you did not in fact open all of the required ports. Can you list exactly what ports you opened?

Dear Chulett,

Between DataStage App Servers (Both engine and Service tier) and DataStage DB Servers Cluster following ports are opened:
50000 (Db2 port), 60000-60004 (Db2 instance service port),
31538, 31531, 13400,13401, 31533 (Datastage ports),
80, 9080-9084, 2810-2812,9100-9102,9407-9412,7278-7279, 7287-7288,5559-5560,5579-5580 (Websphere ports).

From client machine there is no firewall i.e. all ports are open.

Thanks.

Are any errors logged (particularly in the WAS log SystemOut.log) when you attempt to start the node agents?

So what is your actual problem? All you've mentioned is this port you "can't see" but how is that manifesting, specifically what is not working for you?

Dear Chulett,

Due to this I am not able to login datastage client as asbagent service port (31531) port is not available at engine tier.

Thanks.

What you should do now is
lsof -P | grep 31531.

Dear Istsaur,

I will definitely try lsof and let you know the result. However can you tell me in addition to systemout.log where I can check datastage logs.

Thanks

Have you tried manually restarting the node agents?

Or in worst case, reboot the server (always a last resort).

Hi,

I have the relaxed the firewall from all servers. But still no success. Several times started the servers, also did the manual starting of servers but with no success. Now I am thinking to re install the engine tier :(

Thanks.
