The websphere application server used with Datastage 8.1 has automatically gone into the below mentioned status:
The Application Server "server1" is STOPPING
We are not able to stop or start it. Please suggest the best way to stop-start it now. Secondly can anyone suggest why it went to this status automatically.

You'll need to check SystemErr.log and SystemOut.log, which are typically located in /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/default/logs/server1 (or .../profiles/InfoSphere/logs/server1) on the Services tier system. If you took a "non-standard" deployment, just use "find" to locate them under your WebSphere directory.
Those two logs should contain the actual problem, though it may be difficult to isolate as there's always a lot of information in them.
