User inserted sort does not fulfill sort requirements

I have a sort stage in a job to sort incoming data by column A, then B and then C. The receiving stage is a remove duplicates stage where the job picks up the last row. It removes all duplicates with the same values of A and B, except the last row, which happens to be the last value of C within the same A and B.
The warning message I get is
When checking operator: User inserted sort "<name of sort stage>" does not fulfill the sort requirements of the downstream operator "name of remove duplicate stage"
I am trying to remove the warning. What is wrong with 2 stages configured as described above?
