Unable to begin a transaction error in DS Client

Hi Experts,

While trying to access any of the infosphere information server 8.5 tools ( DS Designer, DS Director, DS Administrator, Web Console etc), getting the below error message.

Unable to begin a transaction: [Can't lookup a connection]

I checked the Systemout.log file and it contains the below error message.

Exception java.net.ConnectException: Error opening socket to server RXP654/10.21.30.54 on port 50,000 with message: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation.. ERRORCODE=-4499, SQLSTATE=08001DSRA0010E: SQL State = 08001, Error Code = -4,499

Please let me know if you have ever faced such type of errors and their resolution.

Looks like a problem connecting you your repository database. Check that the database is running, and the owner user (probably xmeta) has a password that has not expired and, for preference, does not expire.

Actually XMETA was down. Now we have brought it up and the issue is resolved.
