What does IA store during Column Analysis?

We are trying to determine how much space that Information Analysis will use.
We are going to run IA Column Analysis (plus other analysis) in production, using a DB2 Data Warehouse as the source.

What does IA permanently store when it runs column analysis?

Does it copy and permanently store exact copies of the tables that it analyzes plus other information, or does it read the input tables and extract/creates and stores only the information that it needs?

How can we estimate the space requirements for IA before we run column analysis in production?

Thank you.

Welcome aboard. The rule of thumb is that the IADB needs to be three to four times the size of the volume of data being profiled. While this is all "permanently" stored you can clean it out once no longer required.

Analysis results are stored in the common metadata repository (XMETA). In comparison the space required for results is negligible.
