Parameter Manager for DataStage (http://www.datastagexchange.com/PM) is a great (and affordable) tool for managing your parameters. Since you're starting from a position of having no parameters, you're at the ideal place to contemplate getting this tool. It means that you can have consistent parameter names, prompts, types, defaults and help texts across all jobs.
PM will not obviate the need to change your job designs so that the stage types use job parameters, but it will remove the task of setting up the parameters grid in each job, and let you make the changes with the certain knowledge that you're using consistently named parameters.
