Sort Stage Failure

Post by fridge »

I have a server job with a sort stage (already advised owners to move to a unix sort) which fails with the following error when Asc/Dsc not set ...

Internal Error: sort specification error, function create_sort_spec returned [DSTAGE-SORT-0059`:`Invalid sort specification]

Is there not a default option of Asc with this stage? I have had a look in the server documentation and can find very little on the sort stage (the server developer guides don't seem to include this stage for some reason).

Thanks for any assistance.

The Server documentation for 8.5 has a section on this stage. And yes, from what I recall you must specify each element as ascending or descending, with each having 3 possible values depending on how much you feel like typing:

a asc ascending
d dsc descending

Many thanks - the 8.5 doc makes it pretty clear that you have to specify an asc/dsc option.
