IS 11.3.1.2 Not seeing CASS Product in the IS installer

Greetings,

We are attempting a CASS install on IS 11.3.1.2 on Linux 6 and although we copied the CASS Payloads folder under the /is-suite/ folder, when we run the latest version of the IS installer we are not seeing the CASS Product in the list of product modules that can be installed. All the permissions on the Payloads folder we copied under /is-suite/ look right, what gives?

TIA,

ff

Forgot to add, yes the install is being attempted logged in as root.

You should see USAC as a folder under ../is-suite/payloads. Like this:

Code: Select all

[root@is-server install]# ls /opt/IBM/install/is-suite/payloads/
buildinfo.txt IMAM MetadataServer
CommonMetadata InformationAnalyzer QSAVI
DataClick InformationGovernanceCatalog QualityStage
DataQualityConsole InformationGovernanceDashboard Shared
DataStage ISALite ThirdParty
DataStageCommon ISC USAC
FastTrack ISF WISD
Global ISModels

Isn't it QSAVI now as well and no longer called CASS?

Different patching techniques as compared to older CASS stuff.

The USAC module includes the CASS stage. The AVI module is under the QSAVI subdirectory (different than USAC).

But isn't the AVI a replacement for CASS. I was lead to believe that CASS was going away.

I haven't heard anything specific about that in the last few years. Perhaps it is an IBM future roadmap direction. It sure would be nice to combine them. Our org cannot afford both add-on modules. We had to let one of the licenses go.

It was a bug in the documentation:

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgece ... t_stg.html

According to the PMR I opened since 11.3 CASS no longer needs to be installed on the services tier (which I was attempting), only on the engine and client tiers.

as for AVI and CASS diffs, only CASS performs U.S. Address certification.

Cheers,
