Unless your data have been through a Standardization stage the Match stage is likely to assign a negative (disagreement) weight to "Bob" and "Robert". But you could match on a phonetic of some kind - probably not one of the out-of-the-box ones, which require the first or final character to match. Best is to standardize the name first.

But the problem is that name should not be changed?

Hi Ray

The problem is even through i figured rob is bobby in standardization, i am not allowed to change it.......but when i run thru standardization stage bob will we converted to robert., correct me if i am wrong....so is there any solution?

You don't have to change it for output. Block on the standardized name, not on the firstname field.
