Hi Team,

I would like to know whether you see any challenge integration with Oralce Exadata (latest version) using Datastage 8.1

Thanks and Regards

Quite possible (that there's a challenge). Latest versions tend to need latest versions. However, do try it - the Oracle 10 client is known to work satisfactorily with Oracle 11 database server (apart from the "new", or 11-only, functionality), so you never know.

We recently evaluated Oracle Exadata and I think the biggest challenge would be loading the IBM Information Server software on the Exadata servers. Everything within the rack communicates at InfiniBand speeds so it's very fast, but if you install Information Server outside the rack then you're communicating at network speeds. You are paying a premium for Exadata, so to take full advantage of it's speed I think the ETL software should be loaded within the rack.
