Nametype for Input patterns of FF+ or FF+?

Post by jaksani »

Hi,

When I test a string of Patterns FF+ ,F+ in USNAME standardization rule is returning Nametype as I.
Can I get any help on why it is treating it as Individual?

Sample Names:DONE JOSE TRUESDELL
WILLIAM HERNANDEZ

Note: I did not check any option in "Optional NAMES Handling"
Thanks & Regards,

This is expected behavior. What do you want to happen?

Hi,
What I thought is,'+' indicates unidentified token. So how it is deciding as I.
If W comes in place of + then it gives O.

Yes, W is a 'business word', so QualityStage assumes it to be an organization. QualityStage does not attempt to identify all possible last names (there are too many), so it will, by default, assume that a first name followed by an unknown is a first name followed by a last name UNLESS you use the default names handling and tell it to 'Process all as Organization'.

You can enter an override if you want to change this behavior.

Unless you specify that it process as an organisation, it sees the F and no O or W in F F + and treats it is an individual.

When I set Optional NAMES Handling to 'Process all as Organization' or 'Proces Undefined as Organization',it is giving NameType as 'NULL' for input pattern of FF+ and as 'I' for input pattern of F+.

As Robert said in another thread, the name rulesets look for the directive at the start. If you put it anywhere else, it will be ignored.
