Post by jaksani »

Hi,
Please let me know what is expected 'NameType' when input pattern is 'FFW'.

Thanks in advance.

NameType will be either blank, I (Individual) or O (Organization).

What happens when you use the rules tester and enter data that is FFW?

I suspect that the W token will override the F tokens and cause NameType to be O. For example HENRY JONES INC.

Yes, When Input Patten is of FFW type it should give Nametype as 'O' but is giving as 'I'. For remaining all patterns is working good but not for this.

Very interesting. Can you please give a data example that did NOT produce the expected results? Also, are you using USNAME?

When you report your results (from the Test utility will suffice) also advise whether any user override kicked in.

Yes, I am using USNAME.
Sample Values: DON JOSE BANK ,DON JOSE ACADEMY.
Not just above values you can take any name where input pattern matcheS FFW and test that string.

Hi,

Yes, I do see your point. FFW does treat it like First, Middle, Last in the out-of-the-box default USNAME ruleset. If you always want it to standardize like and organization, then for now, I suggest you do an Input Pattern override.

Robert
