Data Integration tools are ones that -
1. Allow you to read / extract data from various systems
2. Allow you to modify data as per the business rules
3. Allow you to load the data to target systems.

Yes DataStage is one of the Data Integration tool available in market.

Search IBM and other web sites for terms like "information agenda" and "information management". Data integration is one small piece of a much large picture. From the IBM suite, I'd include all of the Foundation Tools in addition to DataStage and QualityStage under "data integration tools". As well as any others in the mix to feed the other tools. Not to mention the platform itself (Information Server).
