MQ Connector Stage

Hello All,
I am new to the MQ Connector Stage , I am trying to understand if we require Information Services Director in order to use the MQ Connector Stages in real time mode(always-on jobs) ? Do we have to buy license to run the job 24x7 or do we have settings in the MQ Connector Stages itself which allows them to run 24x7 ?
