I am also in UTC+1 and it is showing off by one hour.

--> BTW, GMT does not exist anymore; the official time unit to use is UTC (Universal Time Co-ordinated). The difference is something like milliseconds per century, but standards like this keep our ISO people employed.

I've always had this issue and just changed my offset by one so that it stopped bugging me. :?

YOUR particular offset is configured in your profile. There is no mechanism for changing it automatically. (That's actually quite a difficult task to achieve in a world wide sense - for example some states in Australia do have summer time while others don't.)

Ray,

if I type in my correct offset, UTC+1, then it shows up incorrectly; it seems to be a bug in the forum software; but now that I've lied and told it that I am somewhere east of Ankara it does display my posting times correctly

Then - clearly - you are presently somewhere east of Ankara!

Ray,

at least part of me is that far east. I'm still looking for my mind without any luck, but I am bidding on a suitable replacement part on e-Bay

I thought my earlier post was witty. I was half right.

Wait for it... wait for it... [rises to the bait] - Does that mean you are a half-wit? <rim shot>

Try the veal.

Chulett,
Looks like your 1/2 there :D

Australian Timezones have to be some of the worst in the world for a single country. 3 time zones normally, but one of them is 1/2 hour out not a full hour. During summertime we've had up to 5 when some of the eastern states that do have DLST aren't in synch ... and this plays havoc with people on border towns that live one side and work the other.
