Hello all,

We hope you've had a chance to view the Introduction to the New Video Tech Tip Series. In a few days, we'll be releasing the first video on using the Modify Stage in DataStage Enterprise Edition. For a more detailed explanation of this new series and how we'd like to hear from you, please refer to the article in the May issue of the DSXchange Newsletter.

Please share constructive feedback and ideas for future topics in this thread. We will be producing new videos as often as we are able, so get your thoughts in now while we are selecting a subject for our next tip... :)

Thanks.

Hi Walter,
Just took a look at the introduction video. Heres my feed back.

Did the Flash sequence work correctly on your browser? If not, what browser were you using and what problem did you encounter?
The flash worked perfectly

Did it load down in a reasonable time?
Almost instantly

Was the pace too fast, too slow, or just right?
It was just right

Was the sound quality acceptable?
You bet

Was the video quality acceptable?
Video quality was great. On the other hand, it would be nice if the screen was a little bit larger.

OK on dialup. Doubt that it would be with a bigger screen. Unable to comment on screen shots - only got to see Andy's phiz. And, yes, speaking more slowly will aid those whose first language is not Texan.

Thanks for all the feedback so far!

This is just an update to let you know the first true DSXchange Video Tech Tip is not far off, so keep watching this forum for it's announcement. We think you will enjoy it, even if Andy does speak rather quickly... :)

Thanks again and keep the feedback coming!

Hi,
I had 2 pauses, but that might relate to the heavy CPU duty running on my PC or the fact I was also downloading other things at the time.

 can anyone prepare subtitles

Can anyone prepare subtitles?

Do you mean to translate Texan to English?

Or other languages? Because of the language structures, Hebrew and Arabic would be really tough to do. Nor would Japanese be easy, again because of the verb-last sentence structure preceded by as many conditional clauses as you feel you need. LISP, anyone?

Ray, you keep coming to Texas then they might need this for you. That Texan thang seems to rub off on visitors.

We are going to try to make videos that contain screenshots a bit larger in hopes the text is legible. We have noticed that people with lower screen resolutions see the video as much larger (though grainier) that those of us with high-end screen sizes.

I'll work on the "slower" part, next time I'll cut down on the coffee before-hand....

Walter should have a new one on the "Modify" stage up shortly for your viewing pleasure - We'd love to hear more feedback on that one as well.

Thanks!
