Hi, We're also trying to call a SQL Server stored procedure from DS. It seems that only the "ODBC" Server stage has the stored procedure option. I do not see the stored procedure option in the "ODBC Enterprise" or "Stored Procedure" PX/EE stages. Am I missing something?...

We've just tried installing the 7.5.1A client on Vista Enterprise. The install goes well and without errors. But, we've noticed that the stage properties look different (Oracle Ent., DRA, ODBC< Sequential stage, etc). They appear in the "grid style" on certain tabs (for example: properties...

Oracle Enterprise sqlldr password

Hello, Does anyone know of a way to "mask" or hide the password when using the Oracle Enterprise stage as a target, using the Oracle Enterprise stage "Load" write method? This "Load" method uses the sqlldr Oracle utility to load the data, but uses the username and passw...

You won't get it for a server job or for a job sequence. Ahh, thanks. I was trying to add a message handler for a sequence, but wasn't testing the same thing on my other projects. Thanks. I don't really understand why this capability wouldn't be enabled for sequences? I'm guessing it's becau...

Does anyone know why I would not have the "Add Rule to Message Handler..." option in either Job menu or by right-clicking the log entry for any job in a particular project? I have the option in my other projects, but don't understand why the menu option is not there. Also, when I go to Mes...

From IBM: DataStage Oracle 9i Enterprise Stage has limitations with "ustring" (multibyte characters) due to the fact that it was originally written using Dynamic SQL, instead of ANSI Dynamic SQL, that Oracle recommends for all new applications. Here is some technical references: Ref: Pro*C...

FYI, this problem has not been resolved. However, after working with IBM on this, we've come to the conclusion that we will have to just deal with it. Evidently, the problem no longer exists after upgrading both database and client driver to 10g. To fix the existing problem for 9i, IBM would need to...

Just wanted to give an update on this. IBM has given us the same work-around... Use a project-level message handler. They have reproduced the error in-house, but prefer not to spend the time to fix it, since the warning doesn't seem to affect the data. :? btw, we're not using RCP; doesn't matter if ...

Hi Ray, I work with Shilpa, and have found that the problem here is as you say. The file is not formatted in the "usual" XML format, but in fact consists of a single line. Structurally, the XML is intact and properly formatted in terms of tags and so forth. We've found that the same file c...

Hi, I'm sort of new to XML in general, but have requirements to build some rather simple jobs to move XML data into SQL Server, then back to XML. The transformations involved are substring, concatenating, removing/adding columns, etc. Is there a drawback of using the XML Transform with XSLT, compare...
