Java API
Hi John.... The best way for this to be accomplished is by using the RTI (Real Time Integration) capabilities that we added in 7.x. This allows you to fully expose a DataStage job as a service, to be then invoked via several different mechanisms, depending on your needs.... .....the job can be expos...

We are using DataStage 7 on a Solaris 8 platform, and we would like to have a Java application execute a DataStage job directly through an API, passing necessary parameters. I have not seen anything in the DataStage documentation, other than the C/C++ APIs. Does anyone have any experience with execu...

DS 7 - Running job = core dump
Hi After installing DataStage 7 on HP-UX 11i, I could connect via the client and open files and read the database successfully. When trying to run a job nothing appears to happen in the background except for a core dump: ../Ascential/DataStage/Projects/CRPPROTO/core: yaccpar 1.8 (Berkeley) 01/20/91 ...

AS400 Stord procedure call
Group.. I am trying to call a AS400 Stored procedure which has two input and 3 output parameters. I understand Datastage doesn't consider output parameters and they are ignored. I am calling the procedure with two input parameters using ODBC stage/stored proc. When I executed the procdure encountere...

Hi Ernie We are currently running DS 6.0.1. The Client software installed without a problem, but the server part is a different story. Unfortunately the XML PACK 2.0.1 notes are not very clear on the installation steps, any suggestions? Thanks again Jozef -----Original Message----- From: ernie.ostic...

Oracle vs datasets
Hi Raj, I have never tested this or measured it so my comments are a gut feel. As long as you have configured your config file and resource diskS well to maximise IO, I would say Dataset. It would to hard to test though, give it a try. :-) Stewart -----Original Message----- From: Rajesh.Bhat@hartfor...

Just another thought, if you can be bothered... you could try setting a variable equal to your Unix command and echo that variable. Something like.... UnixCommand = "export SYSVAR1=`head -1 ":projectDir:"/controller/IEFListPR|cut -d/ -f 5|cut -c6-23`; echo $SYSVAR1". -----Origina...
