Kim,

The workaround with our present version (7.0.1) looks a little complex, so as you suggested we better go for an upgrade (Which we are planning shortly)

Thanks for all the information I really appreciate it

Thanks Ray

The number of rows cannot be predetermined (So i wont be able to use Static Hash File). For preallocate disk space by specifying MINIMUM.MODULUS do I use the standard formula's or is there any other way we can optimize the performance?

You could do it in oracle using the Max(Decode.....) function i.e Pivoting Data . I have done something similar to this long time ago. You can try and explore on this one.

If you are sure about the sequential format, you could also take the first 8 digits and put it into a Stage Variable and then you could take the sequential counts and append it to the Staged Variable taken onto each column. You will get the results in different columns. Ex. Staged Variable - BranchN...

Thank you all,
I got the solution from Craig Hulett
The problem was a little wierd - The job was not accepting "Column-generated SQL Query" but the same query when taken as a "User defined SQL query" worked fine

No it is not a new Installation. I have 40 such similar jobs, but i am facing problem with this one. What i assumed was that this was due to some network problem or abrupt power shut down (or is there any limitations on the number of unique keys? as this table has 13 of them) I am now not able to cr...
