You can invoke JCl on a mainframe by FTP'ing it to a particular service on the Mainframe. The Sysadmins of the mainframe should be able to help. I've not done it from Datastage but had written a Java program a while ago to do it. The guts of it was a simple FTP to the Mainframe and then executing it,...

Parsing XML problems with Namespace
I'm getting a problem when I try to parse a XML file which contains namespace info. It also contains some tages xmi:nil=true for some fields. The XML is (cut down a bit: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <PublishMXSERVITEM xmlns="http://www.ibm.com/maximo" xmlns:x...

Check your Stage Types >> Server >> Real Time. It could be hiding in there. Istabur, That's where it should be hiding. This icon from an imported job comes up with a powerpoint instaead of a pipe. This normally means a missing plugin. I'm going to set this to resolved as the sysadmins (ITD) have ag...

Unless this was removed from the 8.x release, the way to install plug-ins outside of server install/update is the command line 'package installer' or dspackinst. You might check and see if that's still out there under $DSHOME/bin or elsewhere. I can't see it in $DSHOME/bin or anywhere else. Can't f...

MQ plugins missing after install
Hi there, Hope someone can shed some light. The ITD dept installed datastage V8 on an AIX platform but the MQ server plugins are missing. My guess is they failed to tick the box during install. Is there any way known here that we can install the plugin for Server side after install without a full tr...

Thanks very much for your answers.
I'll try and implement the logic.
I'd add a sleep command at the
"else
time=$(($time+1))
fi
"
and increment time by the sleep size, otherwise this is going to spin your processor out of control.

What about trying your IS Admin user ID (probably isadmin)? Tried that one as well. The websphere log is complaining it can't find the datastage authentication repository (or something like that so the chinese whispers are telling me). I think the Sys Admin is going to try to remove the link to D/S...

In the IS Admin web console, choose Domain Management, then DataStage credentials. At the very least set up a default DataStage user ID. I've set a default userid, but the problem is I cannot access any part of the system now. Not the admin web console, and all other access is stuffed. The IIS admi...

I'll check. Might be the socks client as well to look at. Food for thought, otherwise a support call Monday Yep, can change the port forwarding with putty to point localhost:9080 to <box>:59080 and login. Thanks for the suggestion. Still a problem in the client but I'll chase that up later. Now I'm...

That sounds like a real bug in the client. Apart from talking to support, can't putty redirect ports, changing a call to 9080 to 59080? I can't check right now, but seem to recall it does off that functionality. I'll check. Might be the socks client as well to look at. Food for thought, otherwise a...

Unable to connect client but console ok
Hi all, I have a fresh install of 8.0.1 on an AIX box. Due to other software the installers put datastage on 59080 rather than 9080 for the listener. Netstat shows it's there so that looks good. I am connecting via a tunnel, and I'm not sure if the error is somewhere there or not. I can connect to <...

[q has/had quite a bit of an impact on future technology. Not to forget those ingenious Sci-Fi authors, namely, Sir Arthur Charles Clarke and Isaac Asimov . I think the impact Robert Heinlein had was possibly larger. The term Waldo was first used in his novels and Water Beds cannot be patented due ...
