performance improving while fetching data from oracle stage

hi how can in i improve the performance while fetching the data from oracle , using ODBC stage. in input i m having 13 lacks rows , and looking for a speed near to 1000 rows/ sec. if i attempt to view the data i am getting error that metadata mismatch and followed by an 'data source empty' message ,...

Thanks Anupam, for the solution. I am looking for the difference in dates , say 12/31/2002 6:00:00 PM and 12/31/2002 6:00:00 PM and 19/31/2002 6:30:00 AM where both r having datatype as timestamp and target is having datatype as NUMBER (here difference will be in MInutes) Can u plz give the Solution...

datetime difference

With source as oracle and target as oracle , i am not able to pass the date , its going NULL in the target,

ALSO with INPUT as 12/18/2001 10:10:44 PM and 12/18/2001 10:10:54 PM , how to get the difference in days or in minites.
