I imported this via the Import Plug-in Meta Data ORAOCI9. We don't have NLS enabled.

As for the NLS_LANG, can different databases have different NLS_LANG values specified ? I thought it was done at a machine level.

Import Oracle Table - Lengths multiplied by 3

I have imported several tables from Oracle (Siebel). When I check the lengths of the fields, they have been multiplied by 3

However, from an Oracle non Siebel schema, I don't get these issues.

I was wondering what I need to look at in order to find out how to avoid this.

Re: compile error--invoke GenRuntime using phantom process h

I also got this error because I had a check for a Euro symbol in a stage variable in a transformer. I changed it to a test using char function

Is it necessary to convert all of the text file stages from Dos output to Unix output ?

Migration from Windows 7.5 to AIX 8.7

We are performing a migration of our Windows 7.5 server to a new AIX 8.7 server and PX machine. I intend to do the following 1) Check jobs for Windows dependant path names 2) Modify DS Administrator parameters to be AIX compliant 3) Look through the routines to find and replace/rewrite DSExecute com...

It did Craig, in as much as I saw that Ray wrote the original HFC program. So I sent him a mail how the calculations are arrived at. :)

I am almost there!

Hi Roy, I am trying to understand what you mean by groups. The three fields returned by the HFC are FileType Modulo Separation Is the separation what you mean by a group ? As the separation and file type will remain static, what I need to (roughly) calculate is the modulo How can I achieve this? Wha...

HFC hashed file calculations

I am performing some optimisation on some jobs and noticed that by far the best performance comes from creating the HF (type 2) before running the job . Using the parameters generated in the HFC.exe, in development I know how many lines will be in each hashed file. When this runs in production I won...

Without wanting you to write this, I don't know the syntax to interrogate the underlying Uniserv tables to get this information, hence my method of reading the DSX files.

1) Where can I get hold of this ?
2) Is it safe to interrogate the Uniserv tables this way ?

Thanks

When you say search Director, are you thinking of 8.x because I only have 7.X and no search capabilities.

Its not so much the HF stage but more ODBC-> HF or ORA->HF that I am concerned about. Given that there are several hundred jobs, I really need to identify just those types.

Read DSX to identify DB stages which write to hashed files

I have been looking at the DSX file in order to find out which jobs write to hashed files. This is part of a bigger process to move the hashed file creation to an overnight batch to reduce processing times. In the section OLEType "CContainerView" I can identify stage identifiers by StageLi...

No, its just one 8.7 server job using Hashed, text files and Oracle. I can't risk importing again without knowing exactly what I have to change.

I changed the header completely with the 7.5 header.

Is there a list of what I must change?

Thanks
