These kind of issues are usually quite difficult to diagnose. Have you checked for project corruption with SyncProject recently? The reason you are having to reboot the engine to restore job operation is that some resource tied to the job, like a semaphore or lock, is not being cleared by the Cleanu...

Though it is no longer chargeable, it is definitely still an optional installation step. Many administrators don't realize that it was included in the base license at 11.5, and still don't install it. Be aware that there are a number of restrictions placed on when Balanced Optimization will automati...

As far as I know the Connector can only handle one SQL statement per update. Though the documentation refers to "SQL - Specifies one or more SQL statements to use to write data." it is really referring to having one for Inserts, one for Updates, etc.

Based on some recent issues a couple of us have run into with the DRS Connector, I'd suggest only using the DRS Connector when you truly need the multi-database functionality.

I have not used the SQL Server Enterprise stage - can't make a strong recommendation either for or against it.

Is the file on your local file system? Or is it really on a Windows disk somewhere and you are reading it through an NFS mount? I've had some problems with NFS in the past. In one case the problem was that some versions of NFS didn't support more than 16 groups on an id. It would only pass the first...

Lets first insure that the connection is configured correctly.

Try this to insure it is configured correctly:

Suggestion 1 - Do some analysis on the files and determine which of the three formats is the most common. Re-order your If statement to do that test first. Then do the least frequent format test last. That way you "fall out" of the test as quickly as possible the majority of the time. If ...

Neeraj, I am a bit puzzled by your description. In it you state that DataStage is on-site at the customer, as well as the source data. If that is the case, then all data is already present on-site. However, to answer what I believe to be the underlying question - the DataStage server will dump data ...

Could you add the following please? Database type and the definition of the "field" that is being used to store the data. Maximum expected file size (if you have it) - is it megabytes, terabytes, etc. Format for the original file - does it contain fixed length records, variable length, Uni...

Neeraj, As you can tell from the lack of responses, this is not a common repository for most customers. Easy-peasy! :-) I've done this a lot! The problem is you are getting the column output for each row of data processed and you only want one at the end of data processing. On older versions I've added a row number in front of the column and just used a remove duplicates to only pass along the last ro...

I know you are on release 9 - but wanted to mention that the Hierarchical Stage in 11.3 does a better job of handling these situations. It has some different limitations but is usually more flexible than the XML stage. As long as your XSD (schema) defines it as a repeating element, the Hierarchical ...
