The "tool" is called DS Migrator and is managed by IBM CEDI Professional Services as an offering. Much of the migration must take place overseas due to legal issues with Informatica. The tool addresses converting Informatica Maps (or even DS Server to DS Parallel)....This was all initiated...

First, this is a parallel job and not server job question. It means in the job you created the Dataset you used a certain degree of parallelism and partitioning strategy. Now in the job thats reading this Dataset the degrees of parallelism and/or paritioning has changed. In order to use a Dataset th...

Actually the Deadlock Daemon works well in certain Unix environments but I have found it is very negative with run-away process in HP-UX and SUN....IBM IIS (Ascential) Support recommends not using since its unpredictable and unsupported..... I use to use all the time and have backed-off due to bad e...

Teradata Enterprise Stage is the best performance providing you set sessiosperrequest and requestsperplayer options properly.....there is a strategy on this....it runs in parallel....

Multiload is a sequential operation and not parallel....Its there but not a good option.....in my opinion....

Ray is right and if you desire to convert your Server to Parallel Jobs then there is no magic utility, although if you speak to IBM IIS (Ascential) then they have a DS Migrator offering to help. But stages such as Hash, IPC, LinkPartitioner, LinkCollector, Universe, Folder and some others are no lon...

:-) crazy....You simply have your Unix Admin create a Unix account on the box in question and make sure the UNix Group (e.g., dstage or the one already assigned to dsadm) is now assigned to this new Account....Its a Unix issue.....then you can assign specific roles in the DS Admin but not creating u...

What is the character set that was established in the Oracle database? It must be in synb with the approach in the DS Job. So, for example, in DS you may define columns to be varchar Unicode or char Unicode (nchar and nvarchar) and then Oracle has NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET: AL32UTF8.. So syncing your N...

No it means you previously brought down DS and restarted incorrectly so you now have more than one shared memory segment which is not good and away from this deleteing Project issue.... So bring DS doen or stop it and then have your Unix Admin (root) do the following: ipcs | grep ade ipcrm -m {share...
