Did you put that many question marks on your post before you can't believe someone would suggest using a hashed file for this... or because you have no idea what a hashed file is?

I've seen that happen if you are not alone in the Project. Are there any other users or processes accessing that Project? You may need to kill off any 'leftovers' from other folks and try it again.

Or depending on the database / stage used, you may have an 'Update Action' of 'Delete existing rows only' that you can stream key field values into.

Yes, you should be taking your target file or xsd and importing its metadata into DataStage via the Import / XML Table Definitions widget. It will generate the XPath expressions you'll need - no reason for you to type them in by hand... unless you enjoy that sort of thing.

Do you have a sample of this output already generated or perhaps an xsd? Use it to import the metadata of the desired target format so that the proper XPath expressions can be generated for you for use in your job.

As long as you are running 7.5.x then yes - before that, you would need to reinstall everything to re-license.
