:? Ok... any chance you'd like to share with us the abort messages? And perhaps a brief explaination of the job design? Then maybe someone would be able to actually help you.

Define 'copy'. You can use Version Control to promote a job from one Project to another. You can use the Manager to export a job from one project and then import it into another one. Technically, you could also release a job in one project, 'package' it and then use the Package Installer to install ...

No, there's no special forum needed. However, we do try to segregate PX issues and job questions from Server ones. This was marked as Parallel (which is hard to notice) but in the Server forum (which is hard to miss) hence the confusion over the mention of hashed files.

Exactly. As I tried to say earlier on, all it takes is one stray connection or lock to have a REINDEX make a Project look empty. Been there, done that. Try again. Use LIST.READU to ensure there are no stray locks on your objects in the repository before you do so and UNLOCK any that still remain. A ...

Did you put that many question marks on your post before you can't believe someone would suggest using a hashed file for this... or because you have no idea what a hashed file is?

I've seen that happen if you are not alone in the Project. Are there any other users or processes accessing that Project? You may need to kill off any 'leftovers' from other folks and try it again.

Or depending on the database / stage used, you may have an 'Update Action' of 'Delete existing rows only' that you can stream key field values into.

We only have sequential CSV source files, we need to format the same into XML target files. We don't have any XML files ready to import via metadata importer. At worst case create a sample XML file in the desired format, then import that. You must have some kind of target format you were given, yes...

I'm a little lost on exactly what your original problem was. I am running 7.5.1A on H-PUX and am not having an issue with the default padding character in the Sequential file stage. Yes, you are right that the default padding symbol does seem to be 'hardcoded' to a '#' but it is easily changed on th...

Yes, you should be taking your target file or xsd and importing its metadata into DataStage via the Import / XML Table Definitions widget. It will generate the XPath expressions you'll need - no reason for you to type them in by hand... unless you enjoy that sort of thing.

Do you have a sample of this output already generated or perhaps an xsd? Use it to import the metadata of the desired target format so that the proper XPath expressions can be generated for you for use in your job.

As long as you are running 7.5.x then yes - before that, you would need to reinstall everything to re-license.
