I've never seen anything like this dealing with all kinds of different Array Size settings across multiple versions of Oracle. You don't have row buffering turn on by chance, do ya?

ps. I did like how 45 source records successfully turned into 65 records loaded with an array size of 1.

Ah... an extra CR, gotcha. Reading comprehension can be so elusive some days.

On the UNIX side, it's those extra LFs that can be pesky.

You could also handle it via the 'Contains Terminators' column in the Sequential File stage if you wanted to keep them in the data.

Shouldn't the answer also involve changing the datatype in the source stage to something supported - like Integer? :?

I'd say your DBAs aren't really on the ball if you have to ask to have proper stats / histograms maintained on your tables.

Between Google and Wikipedia, it's amazing what you can lookup on your own. For instance: USS - a.k.a. UNIX System Services.

ps. Just a starting point.

And for those of you without access to ADN, our illustrious Kim Duke has graciously hosted the file at his website as well:

http://www.duke-consulting.com/Download ... chTips.zip

Make sure you checkout his site while you're there, don't just download and run.

Thanks Kim! :D

Ok... as mentioned earlier, I'm not really excited about starting a mailing service. At some point this site will have a File Library, but in the meantime since ADN does, I've uploaded a zip file there. It has two official Ascential Tech Tips in it from 2000 for Server jobs - one on how to handle al...

I'd suggest taking Krrish's suggestion to your UNIX SA (not your DBA unless they are one-in-the-same, which would be... unusual) and present it to them. Tell them that you need them to monitor disk usage during your job runs for you. They should be more than happy to help.

Sorry, but I am going to recommend a book for you: The Data Warehouse ETL Toolkit by Ralph Kimball and Joe Caserta. Think of it as a large collection of online papers, printed out and all stuck together. And 'staging' not equal 'tables'. Chapter 2 of the above mentioned book is called ETL Data Struc...

I've got no direct ideas, but was going to suggest you search the forum for keywords in your message. When I did for 'Player terminated unexpectedly' I found quite a number of messages, including some from you with what I'm guess are earlier attempts to solve this problem. Still think you should do ...

I guess 'Wizards' may be the wrong term, although they are fairly Wizard-like from what I recall. Look under your Client installation directory for a sub-directory called 'Assistants'... that be them, as far as I know. Don't have access to PX right now to verify. I'm not even sure they're documented.
