It's not clear to me either. What does it show for this job under Job Properties on the Performance tab? Other than that, we'd probably need to see a picture of your job design to have any hope of figuring out the 1st transformer versus the 7th transformer issue and all that. And are you saying this...

Do you have any form of 'buffering' turned on? That can make it seem like they are executing out of order in the Monitor when in fact they are not.

Never heard of such a thing. There are known issues with the NOTFOUND functionality with regards to DB stages used as lookups, but I can't imagine they would do anything or change anything so fundamental that would break tons of existing jobs simply by upgrading. :?

Again... I don't see any evidence that the DRS stage works that way either. Unless it happens at runtime, no amount of changing the Update action forces a change in the Transaction Size to 1. It might be smart in some cases to do that when RI is involved in the equation, but you're certainly not for...

Ah... you missed the point, DS. This is a question on two MI Job Actitivity stages in a Sequence job, two that are not linked together. The assertation is that they still run in a serial fashion rather than in parallel. If they truly are not linked together in any fashion, then they are running as p...

As noted, that's way too quick and would only work if there are zero client connections at the time you bring the server down. And we all know how often that is true. Stop the server then start checking to see when all leftover connections release: netstat -a |grep dsrpc -or- netstat -a |grep dsrpc ...

Could the reason be that when it finds the 64 bit libraries it doesnt continue looking for 32 bit. Just to beat this to death, the "it" that Ray mentioned is not DataStage per se but any application on the planet. Any kind of search path, like PATH or SHLIB_PATH needs to be properly ordered so the ...

It is well documented perhaps over documented. Everyone should have something like Kim's "over documented" wrapper script for launching any kind of DataStage job via dsjob. There's no reason on the planet not to, even if you can't roll your own there's more than one posted here for the taking!

Update the home page

Seems like it's time to update the home page again. In particular, take down the big ad for the July Lab... and let us know how it went!

Did Ray put Vegemite on his ribeye again?
