Actually, I didn't tell them to anything in particular other than search. That is certainly one option but not the only option. The documentation explains how to use proper triggers so the job thinks you are handling any failures and will not try to be 'helpful' and handle the alleged failure for you.

No offense taken, just a comment. Define 'default directory'? Do you mean the Project directory? In any case a filesystem backup can get them, like any other hashed file. The 'problem' with that (if you do mean in the 'account' that is the Project) is the VOC record pointer in the Project, plenty of...

Been discussed quite a bit here. Routines that do not return a zero are considered to have failed if you have the 'Automatically handle activities that fail' option enabled.

Oracle thing. And you can't. You need to ensure you do not have data to be bulk loaded that would violate any constraints.

For someone 'quite new to DS' I'd suggest the zip route. Far easier to accomplish... assuming they have a UNIX zip flavor out there.

your answer would make sense, but still i got 2 doubts: 1- how to write a script? i am quite new in DS, not so able in writing scripts... any help would be appreciated This is not a DataStage task. A UNIX script would be akin to a Windows 'bat' or batch file, something that runs a series of command...
