How do you set what? Isolation Level has nothing to do with restarting after a failure, I'm guessing you are thinking of Transaction Size? As Arnd notes, the behaviour of your job on failure and what actions are required during restart are all under your control and is dependant on your job design....

If this is indeed a routine in a Sequence job, you'll need to pass the value as a Job Parameter to the job that actually loads it. That's practically automatic, as the External Parameter Helper tool can build the correct syntax for you when you tell it to use the $ReturnValue of your routine.

Yes.

Did you search as I suggested? Do you understand what your issue is?

Just curiousity on my part is all.

No clue on the how. If no-one else pops in here having done that before, why not open a case with your official Support provider? Go back to the source and ask them if they can support dates of that nature.

Re: Support for large dates - say 5874897-12-31

Ok, let me be the first to ask - what database supports 'large dates' like that and why in the world would you want to use them? :?

Please suggest.

Suggest you leave that bit off.

Actually, you can help yourself. A search of the forums for 'unhandled failure' would reveal that this has been asked and answered quite a numer of times in the past.

Yes?

Keep in mind the fact that I have zero 'DataStage on Windows' experience, having spent my entire life happily camped out in UNIX Land. Which is why I left this for others to (hopefully) answer.

And ps: this is a classic hijack.

Only by putting the 'nextval' select into a lookup, from what I've seen.

No, not huge data but rather table design versus job design. Can you describe both, please? Is your table partitioned?

They don't want to generate the sequence during the job but rather after it completes, from the way I read the OP. Hence my KeyMgnt suggestion, probably leveraged in a Sequence job.

Check your Internet Options - don't recall exactly where this would be in 6x, but somewhere under Browsing History / Settings? There should be a 'Check for newer versions of stored pages' option, perhaps yours is set to something other than 'Automatically' or 'Every time I visit the webpage'? :?
