Administrator environment variables are per project and thus you 'switch' to different projects to effect the switch to different environments as well.

Whatever way you can make work and are able to support is slick enough. I've done something very much like that, then used DSGetLinkInfo to see if the fishing trip was successful or not. Seems like WaitForFile could be used just as easily if the presence of the file is the trigger. However, keep in ...

Some time ago I built a little stand-alone checker. Wasn't fancy but from what I recall it worked fine. I'll see what I can turn up and if it's anything worth sharing.

'Today' jobs use 'at' while 'every' jobs use 'cron', but I don't see how that would in-and-of itself be an issue. Where are you setting ORACLE_HOME for DataStage - the proper place would be in your dsenv file.

What is returned is a dynamic array, and that notation says you want to check only the first element in the array. I agree with your point, Ray, and have used both notations. I prefer the one I posted and, when I use it, I ensure what I'm after is always in the first element. If at all possible.

For any kind of MS related error, but first advice will always be for you to uninstall and then reinstall the client software - that usually fixes it.

When you order the 7.5 media, it will come with a document detailing "What's New in 7.5" but I don't have it handy at the moment. That would be one avenue. It also used to be posted online but I don't believe it is anymore.

If no-one has it handy, I can post snippets from it tomorrow.

Welcome long time listener and first time caller! Unless you want to limit your audience to just those people who speak 'DTS', you should consider spelling out the logic in plain English. In other words, a spec document detailing the work it is doing. Done properly, anyone should be able to help you...

Interesting... I've got a 2003 version (maybe 04?) that has been through the tweak-a-thon quite a number of times. I wonder how much fun it would be to get the latest and greatest and try to fold the new stuffs into what I have? :D

Good luck with the puzzler.
