I know it exists, but not where exactly it is but can't imagine it would be all that hard to find. And you'd need a copy of the 'earlier version' to compare with.

I was thinking of the OCI stage as an experiment. How is the DRS set - to Oracle or ODBC? Is this a source or target stage? Do you have problems with any other job accessing Oracle or is it literally just this one?

What's not working about it? Meaning, what do you think it should be doing that it's not?

It comes with rather heftly pdf documentation - both a Admin Guide and a User Guide. It would behoove you to check both of them out.

What's different between the two servers?

Try the directory the files can be found in, the stage will combine the two and read the 'standard out' of the command as input to the stage.

What happens if you use an OCI stage instead?

ps. It's not called a 'map' in this world.

That probably explains why I don't use it. As noted, prefer concatenation, either before job or dynamically via the Filter.

Couldn't imagine it would have worked but worth the try I guess.

ps. Scripting it is your only option - but you can run and monitor said script from DataStage if you like.

What part do you need help with? The check and concatenation is simple, yes? And it seems like you need to wrap it in a little 'if-then-else' magic to check if A is already 'SMD'.
