Time to first record is all about your query. Are you ordering or grouping? Leveraging indexes? After that, flow thru the job is a combination of explain plan, network speed, array size, etc. In other words, lots of factors.

Permisssions are controlled by the user's umask setting. Have you tried to see if the file can be read? Quicker than asking here!

You should be fine with 664 like that.

That should be fine, providing the directory exists and you have permissions to write to it. Double-click on the job's log message for the stage, it should provide a clue.

For PX, you are better off with an External Source stage to feed the XML filename into your job as detailed here by Ernie. See if that solves your problem.

No, not with so little information. :?

Post your job design and as much detail as to exactly what you are doing that you can stand to include.

Something we've already tried to explain. Hence my comments about "destructive overwrite" (the official name and something easily searched for here) and "population v. lookup".

One obvious answer is to do "it" in a stage variable then. Or post "it" so we have some idea what your "calculation" is. Include the datatypes involved when you do. [OT] Nybble, eh? Had to google up this spelling, one I hadn't seen before, but still a "nibble" or four bits / half of an 8-bit byte. A...

:? Bug? "Update else Insert" does not require a key / unique index to function correctly. Faster, perhaps, but not correctly. "Insert else Update" does, however.

:? If you are saying there's "nothing but text" in the pdf documentation that ships with the product, that isn't true. Sure, some smaller ones that don't need any don't have any, but the big "Guides" all do.

I'm not sure it will reduce anything, but sure - you can include screenshots here and many have. Just like in any other web forum, you'll first need someplace to host them and there are plenty of free file hosting sites out there. Google will turn up a ton, FileShack and PhotoBucket come to mind but...
