Hmmm... but if the job finishes before that time, won't the routine still cause the Sequence to wait and then terminate? :?

Interesting, while it does indeed * the output for changes, it does seem a little overzealous. For instance, mine is showing UDRBLKS, IMPERSONATION and INSTANCETAG as not being at their default value when in fact they are. However, it does also show the ones I did change. :?

Granted, but the ellipses/picker will only show it in the DS Transform section because there is one (a transform) defined over that routine, hence the discussion re: it 'not showing up'. The vast majority of sdk routines fall into that category.

As this is server-side functionality, you'd need to get your hands on the executable from someone who has a Windows version of the DataStage server. From what I recall, the actual dirty-work is done using "dsdesign.exe" which you'll have, the rub is getting the list of jobs to iterate thro...

Can you elaborate on what is the added value this 'conversion program' brings to the table? What kind of 'conversions' is it doing, any idea? Spelling that out will get you better (more focused) answers.

That's not the 'same problem'. Please start your own post so we know your particulars and when you do so provide details of your job design. In your new post.

What exactly is it writing to this second location? A complete copy of the dataset? Something else? Take a peek at the files and let us know what you are seeing there.

This one?

That's probably because there's zero in the way of detail in it, at least here you've added some pertinent information re: the job design.

Figure out which side is your bottle-neck, then you can (perhaps) do something to improve things. Split the job in two and land the data, that way you'll know how much of the 'slowdown' is the extract and how much is the load. My money is on the load. What stage are you using for the Oracle side? Wh...

This would have been a much better place to start then, rather than the extremely generic "what's the difference" question.

A little old but still perfectly valid. Only odd thing to know about the Oliver Archives is they are records from a "list server" and thus all emails, so start from the bottom and read up. http://www.dsxchange.com/viewtopic.php?t=82321 Just to add: some people reply at the top, some at the...
