The ODBC stage can be used to enforce 'Unit of Work' commits, I've done it in the past (with Ernie's help) in webservice jobs. You have to manage the 'commit' and 'rollback' statements at the proper times / boundaries, but it can be done. As Kim noted, restarts are completely on you. Typically, it i...

Unfortunately, we've all seen behaviour like that, some combination of things can result in fatals that don't abort. Open a case with your offiical support provider, perhaps you are missing a patch. Especially since you're still on 8.0 rather than 8.1. :?

Wrap your illustrations ("ascii art") in

tags to preserve the whitespace the forum software would otherwise automatically remove, as it is doing now. Apply liberal amounts of the Preview button as it won't line up quite like you expect but you *can* make them line up. And th...

That command output looks fine. Do you know if you can send email from that Server outside of DataStage using sendmail? Does mail from the Notification Activity stage in a Sequence job work?

If not, you'll need to involve your SysAdmin for that box.

Define it as a string and then use StringToDate() with the proper format mask.

As far as getting the DBA onboard is concerned, tried that but didn't get much out of it - "Since you can connect from your ETL server to Oracle using the same user ID albeit a different application (SQL Plus), this is not an oracle-related issue and is specific to your application's configura...

Let's see... by the numbers. 1) Good, that helps narrow things down. 2) Good, that lets us know that it is probably Oracle. 3) Keep looking. Obviously, something has changed. 4) Helpful information, but not conclusive. The EOF issue is probably a red herring, an artifact of the true issue. 5) View D...

The main question in the post was that transformer is not supporting column name containing '-'. I've already explained the fact that that small piece is indeed correct, as has Ray. The original question goes beyond that. Ray started to discuss something I was (and still am) going to wait for the d...

What exact 8.x version do you have? That could be a factor. From what I recall, the internal Help links were goofed up early on but I believe there's some kind of a 'documentation patch' that fixes that. Search here (it is here somewhere) or ask you support provider. Assuming (again) I'm following w...

Ah... sorry, was going by the Subject and didn't re-read the original post.

And even though I can't help directly, it would be good if you answered my question so we know that is indeed what you are saying.
