Help you learn Perl? Not really what we're all about here. Are you familiar with dsjob which is the command line interface for DataStage jobs? Start there by reading the documentation or searching here, that is what any 'script', Perl or otherwise, would need to leverage to do this.

And isn't it true that you can only leave off the drive letter if the path is on the same drive where DataStage is installed? May be safe to make the assumption that it is on the C: drive as well, but worth pointing out, me thinks.

Again, manual mode in the Bulk Loader stage doesn't insert anything. So is this happening when you manually invoke sqlldr afterwards? Please be specific regarding exactly what it is you are doing.
