Then I assume you are once again generating a bazillion warning messages and the log has 'overflowed', pushing it past the 2GB threshold. You might want to monitor it real time after it gets 'fixed' again, see what is being logged.

Start here with the 'Best Practices' document from Kim Duke's website. There's a treasure trove of XML information in there to get you started, we can go down the whole 'realtime' aspect of this later. Get it working outside of that environment first. Also, you've posted this in the Server forum but...

So, edit it rather than try to insert it.

Again, what problem are you trying to solve? I'm afraid you are wasting your time going down this path. :?

Which would certainly work... or you could use one of the noted 'Key Management' routines, save yourself some of the shenanigans.

While normally no, you should not have to restart anything after doing something as simple as clearing a job's log, it sounds like that might be prudent in your case given what's going on.

That environment variable is only valid on the 'Enterprise' side, i.e. for a Parallel rather than a Server job. Regardless, all such would be done via the Administrator.

This contradicts your original post, at least there you wanted to set it to a space which could be legal. There is no way to allow a null in a column that does not allow them.

I'm locking this thread as it is going nowhere and I don't really see it getting any better. The O/P can certainly open a new thread on this subject, but if so it should be much more well defined and less... pop quiz like to avoid the same fate.
