Remember the 4019th IT corollary to Murphy's Law; things only go pear shaped when you don't have a backup.
Take a backup of the system, take an export of the project, and verify that each is good before proceeding.

Yes if accessed natively, no if accessed via SQL which does enforce data types, etc. If the hashed file is created as a UV table, however, then data types and security and integrity constraints are honoured at all times. The only exception is where you have created triggers - these can not be bypass...

Because 4.2 is based on UniVerse, its shared memory keys are of the form 0xace..., while 7.x shared memory keys are of the form 0xade... (or something else if the -itag installation is performed). So that should not be a problem. The "pointer" to the engine is /.uvhome versus /.dshome so, again, thi...

For a small, finite number of rows the stage variables approach is indicated, but you need to ensure that all values for each pivot key occur on the same processing node. Do this by partitioning and s...

Please post the configuration file. Without this it's difficult to judge. For example, what exactly do you mean by "two nodes in the same partition"? Further, be aware that Sequential File stages can only sustain parallel operation under very particular circumstances. This is not the same as "multip...
