Does this PC have less memory than the others? This most common reason for failure of SQLAlloc... functions is that no memory can be allocated.

There are possibly two user IDs involved. One is you, the other is one of dsapi_server or dsapi_slave. This might explain the difference in reported nofiles settings.

Any number of simultaneous queries is permitted by database servers and operating systems. It's when (if) you want to perform updates/writes that locking issues occur.

Make sure that the data are partitioned on the same column in which you're trying to perform the comparisons - they won't work if the previous value is on a different processing node!

I believe you're missing the NLS Guide (among the documents in the Docs folder). When the external character set is, say, one of the Asian ones, then DataStage uses Unicode internally.
