Re: No AIX 5.3 is not supported

Does anybody know if it is still the case that 7.5 is not supported/certified for AIX 5.3?

Thanks in advance.

I think 7.5.2 (usually referred to as 7.5X2) is meant only to run on windows platforms. Therefore you should not expect to find any documentation for installing on AIX. Might want to check into 7.5.1 .

Reusing same job to load multiple tables of different DDL.

Hello Forum, Is it possible to use the same load job to load multiple load files with different columns and delimiters to different target tables. My idea was to use parameterized schema files to handle/parse the load file, and parameters for the rest of the connectivity information. I've done such ...

Update: By changing my imported metadata source fields from float to the same as my target decimal(25,7), all these problems dissapear. DataStage still throws a conversion precision warning upon reading the data into the DataStage job, but the precision loss is much more acceptable (10E-12 typically...

Not certain if these were the environment variables to which you were referring, but setting the following on my jobs did not have any affect on the target being mapped to zero when using StringToDecimal(), or the average deviation between source and target when using StringToDecimal() or DFloatToDe...

Thanks for your suggestion ArndW, I changed all source metadata columns to varchar(50) from float(15), and used the StringToDecimal() function to convert to Numeric(25,7) target. For the most part, the function did a good job in conversion. However there was some major issues when the source string ...

After consulting the vendor on this, they mentioned that they have not tested Stored Procedures in Teradata, and do not support it.

They did mention that you might be able to get it to work, but you're on your own.

Thanks for your help.

I ended up using a DS Basic routine to pass this expression into a perl evaluation.

Thanks for the feedback. 1. I take it by setting up NLSMODE to 0, I will be simulating data transformation 100% like a non NLS installation. 2. The release notes for 7.5X2 (winee.pdf) explicitly state: Do not check the NLS install box. NLS is not supported with the 7.5x2 release of DataStage Enterpr...

All the plugins that I've encountered behave in this way. They seem to have the old-school server style method of entering parameters. It is particularily annoying on the MultiLoad plugin because there are so many settings, and Teradata installations usually have strict requirements on how these sho...

NLS Uninstall and NLS Default features

Hello Forum, A few questions about NLS. 1) Can NLS be uninstalled after it has been installed? 2) Exactly what features of NLS have people observed not to work on Windows 7.5X2 environments? The vendors installation recommendations suggest there must be something important missing from the NLS funct...

Float To Numeric (25,7)

Hello Forum, I am mapping floats sourced from SQL Enterprise to target of Numeric(25,7). The size of the target almost guarantees that I will have some visible difference in the actual values, especially since I have no specifications for truncation or rounding. My average mapping from float to such...

Allowing multiple instances when it is not necessary

Hello Forum

Why aren't all jobs enabled to allow multiple instances by default, and what are the drawbacks of enabling the multi instance capability when it is not required.

Thanks,

Fatal messages but job completes with warning.

Hello Forum, I provided an incorrect datatype to the isvalid function (isvalid('int', link.col)), which resulted in a fatal red error message in the director log. "Invalid type: integer" This was expected, and have since corrected by placing 'int32' instead. However, when I received these ...
