Ray, I couldn't read your full message as i am not a premium member. When that condition arises, the record is getting dropped. When i tried to collect it in a reject link i am getting all those dropped records. Can anyone tell me why and under which condition it is getting rejected instead of going...

Ray, I already have a reject link in the sequential file stage. There it is rejecting all the metadata non matching records. After that in the transformer i am checking for null values for mandatory columns. When i check for individual columns it is directed to either output or error file correctly....

Ram,

What you are saying is correct. So i tried the option trim(col_name) = ''
instead of using the function isnull() or isnotnull(). This is also giving problem.

DB stage used is Oracle 8, not Oracle OCI?
Will that also give problem?

Actually the project when developed it was using Oracle 8,
Then the database upgraded to 9i and the DB stage still remaining as oracle 8.

Hi all, In other utilities (Toad) also it is taking that much time. In other environment, the data is very less, so simulation is a long process( Need to do a data refresh from production server). Performance Tuning

Hi

I am tuning a select query used in datastage job.It is having 35 NVL functions. If i handle this in transformer, will it increase the performance of the job as a whole.This single query is taking 1 hr in the production environment.
