not 'officially' the way to go but we do ship a datastage 6 broker with metastage 7...

your better using version 7's with version 7's

why dont you export the DSX in XML format, and then s the XML reader/writer to reorganise it?

to run 4.2 and 6.x client he still only needs the client switcher.. i admit he needs the cd to get the utility, he could check whith local support, the utility phyically swaps over registry entries and we've tested with 4.x 5.x 6.x and 7.. server version is irrelevant
