Unable to access partitioned DB2 table with Enterprise Stage
We're in the process of creating a number of jobs writing fairly large amounts of data to DB2. Thus we're implementing a partitioned table structure with the intention of distributing the tables across several tablespaces. That is, the tables will be range partitioned in addition to regular (?) part...

MS server moved do new domain, logon probs OK without reinst
After having dwelled on this problem for a couple of weeks I set about to reinstall the server the other day. Before I started I just tried to log in to verify that the problem still persisted - and was surprised to find that it did not. That is - I was now able to login with accounts present in the...

OK, I've downloaded and checked out the UniVerse Admin Guide and I conclude that although Data Stage uses UniVerse to store login/accounts info, it does not provide any access tool likte UniVerse Admin to administrate the accounts?
That is, the UniVerse Admin tools must be installed separately then?

The host name is still the same, all we've done is join it to a different domain that before. I.e. under Control Panel -> System -> Computer Name where it is decided what the computer name is and what domain it belongs do. So nothing has been reinstalled on the server, all that has been done is join...

Microsoft server moved to new domain - reinstall required?
I've recently set up a Data Stage test/demo environment in the office of the consulting company I work for. It's on a Windows server, whereas I've always had the server installed on a Unix server in the customer projects I've worked in. It's worked fine, using the Windows Active Directory (AD) to pi...

Indeed so, a lot of formatting CAN be applied, but I try to avoid it as far as possible since it's pretty messy. Ah, I did understand 'buen dia' but wasn't sure about the first half. I do know the meaning of 'Que' - mostly however due to the British comedy Fawlty Towers... Muchas Gracias for the Spa...

Well, I've basically had to explain to the client that Data Stage is not really a reporting tool (which it isn't) and that it's not made to write to any desired file format but rather to databases or sequential files (or hash files). To get reports you usually use some reporting tool, and Excel in i...

I'm similarly confused
I append this to this thread since I'm somewhat confused regarding these job codes myself. I have a number of sequences that each run a job and then have an After Job Sequence that logs and reports status. I'm facing two sides of status code trouble in this situation. First, I want to make sure the ...

Similar problem
I'm in a similar situation with a client, where a side application from the data warehouse we're building is to export some data directly to files that are then read with Excel. My solution is the simpler one of the two you have to choose from - I make a .csv file using semicolon (;) as separator (i...

String it is
Thanks Craig for pointing that out! I've already noticed the use for using a string format for dates and taken a habit of doing so. I've tried using date as format when passing fields through Data Stage but it usually ends up getting messy so at least for parameters I do stick with strings and then ...

So I should set the CommentParam in a routine then, eh
OK, so from what Craig says, I guess if I want to use the method with a CommentParam, I should use a routing upstream in the sequence to set it, based on the value of ToDate, and then just pass it along to the job. Or I can use the CASE way suggested by Kenneth. I'm still 'free' today though so it'l...

Great suggestion Baabi
Baabi, that is really quite an idea! Now, I see the problem that Ray points out that parameters cannot be changed from within a job. In my case however, the job is called from a job sequence that has taken the ToDate value as in parameter and passes it on to the job that then uses it for the SELECT ...
