Hi Arnd, How are you doing? Thanks for the quick reply. It is not with regards to hashed file but generally with respect to the DS and WAS installation? I was told that IIS 8.1 is all 64 bit - we have db2 9.5 for repository so that for sure is 64 bit. But wanted to confirm the same for DS and WAS. I...

DataStage 8.1 - engine / WAS - 64 bit / 32 bit?
Hi,
If we install IIS v8.1 then
1. Is DataStage a 64 bit engine by default?
2. Is WAS 32 bit by default?
Is there any command I can use to find out?
Cheers

dscmdexport-including read only objects/excluding executable
Hi, Not sure if this has already been answered in some post, if so then please guide me to it. Basically, I need to know if using dscmdexport.exe, can I 1. Include the read only objects, because most of our shared containers are read only in prodction. 2. Exclude the job executables. Cheers Aakash

User permissions - should view jobs but not be able to run
Hi,
Does somebody know how can I set up DS v8 so that a specific group of users can view the jobs in designer but NOT be able to run them either from designer. director or command line.
I tried setting ACL's on the project directory but it doesn't work. Any help??
Cheers

I agree Arnd.... but I was just thinking it doing this way: Backup metadata repository soon after the install (so that all the install config info is secured). Then on regular frequencies, export projects and do filesystem backups of DS. Backup WAS profile each time it changes. If things go horribly...

DS v751 install on the same box as DS v801
Hi, Does any body know of any known issues which arise when a DS v751 client is installed on the same box / LPar as DS v801 (we have domain / metadata rep. layer on a different box than the engine layer)? Also, are there any specifics to be kept in mind before / while performing this kind of a setup...

Backup of DataStage ver 8
Hi, I intend to device a backup plan for our DS v8 installation. But I have noticed that DS has some information in the xmeta database (DB2 in our case) although I am not sure how it all connects. If somebody can explain me how it all connects (DS, DB2, WAS etc.) and what components should be backed...
