The easiest way is to use transformer stage and use such derivation on output column:
if Emp_type='P' then 1 else if Emp_type='T' then 2 else -1

I got 1:45 min to resolve my test. There was 79 questions. As it is in my examination score report I got 56 questions answered properly. And as my score report says I got 85% score. Maybe some questions are 1pt for good answer and the others 2pt?

I got passed the certification exam today also :D Big thanks to vmcburney for his blog. It helps me very much. But I am a little confused about the final score: how it is calculated? On my examination report I have info that I had 56 good answers and I got 85% score. But 56/79 ~= 70%. Some questions...

Is this possible to change to run dsrpc process as another user than root?
As owner I mean what 'ps -ef | grep dsrpc' command return.

What tool did you use to generate that display? I don't know. I got that error in email from my colleague. Have you checked your physical and virtual memory and seen to your paging space? SYSTEM RUNNING OUT OF PAGING SPACE It is probably cause of the problem. It is running out of memory during use ...

Where can I find some logs of ds server running? I would like to get info such: new client connection, is that connection was succesful/not, how many clients are connected?
Is that possible?
And how to connect to ds server on unix to run DS.TOOLS app?

In using this tool since 1998 I've never heard of the daemon hanging, so what's the real problem you're having? I don't have such problem. I want to make some monitoring tool for datastage environment and I though it could be good idea to figure some other states of ds daemon, not only running and ...

server engine status

Hi,

I want to test the state of my ds server process(engine). Is that enough to check if there is running dsrpcd process?
How to check if that process is not hanged? Execute 'dsjob' command?

It wasn't me. There were two more people working on that project. I don't know what was the purpose of checking that option in.
I think it could be cause of not having complementary knowledge of DS.
