Not sure if its good to continue on this post, but this being the only post that talks about the problem of interpreting number as decimal in rcp, i thought of continuing on the same. Coming back to the subject, we have the exact same requirement of not to send the integer as decimals, whereas the o...

Upgraded Site && Premium Membership
Hello,
I have been trying since december to renew my premium membership. It is always giving a page not found error. Is there another way to pay and get premium membership or if we need to wait, how long would we need to wait ?

How Datastage handle streaming events (MQ / Kafka messages)
Hello All, I am experiencing the error "The record is too big to fit in a block" in one of my job which uses MQ connector to read messages from a queue. Scenario The MQ queue has around 15000 messages with the size of each message is some kb. Definelty less than a 0.5MB The Datastage conne...

I had a meeting with the Business and the support even yesterday on this point and they are asking to provide a solution that could resolve the prod issue within the SLA time of 4hrs in case of a Sev 1. Though being a batch process, our application is highly critical and directly inclined with the b...

Thanks for sharing your views, I am completely in line with your comments and would really like to change the situation here in my projects. But want the transition to be smooth by still allowing them some flexibility rather than putting an big end to this process immediately, Hence looking for diff...

Quick fix in Prod - Before / After statements
Hello, I have a question which i have been thinking for a while, how others would have implemented, or is there any best practise . Its been 2 years for me in datastage and thanks to this forum which helped me gain a good amount of knowledge. I have worked across 4-5 projects in these 2 years and al...

Thanks for your reply Sorry, it's been awhile but can't you sort and create the key change column at the same time? Meaning two rather than three Sort stages. Yes, Sort does create a keyChange while sorting, but i don't want the keyChange with 5 keys (A,B,C,D,E) but with rather one keyChange with (A...

Sort Stage - (Don't Sort) Performance Impact
Hello, I would like to have your views on the usage of multiple sort stages for the use of creating a key change column and not sorting the data actually. Here is the scenario, Sort Stage 1 - Sort Mode - Sort for all columns Sorting columns A, B, C, D, E Sort Stage 2 - Sort Mode - (Don't Sort Previo...

Thanks for your replies I see both similar as in the first case, we filter with oracle and the other with datastage. I was asking this question to myself for a while now, there are operations that could be done with oracle and with datastage also, like sort, group by, distinct etc.. My collegues hav...

Check if multiple rows returned from Lookup Stage
Hello All, Not sure if this type of requirement is common, but i felt it was a little strange. The requirement is that, a lookup needs to be done on a table which could potentially return multiple rows. If one row is returned, then process the records, but if multiple rows are returned, then ignore ...

Design XML(multiOccurance) using Hierarchial Data stage + MQ
Thanks for your proposal. I changed to xmlOutput node and its was a lot simpler. I have an another question concerning this above design and not sure if its good to continue on the same post. I could change if required. As said above, I have to send these messages to MQ queue where our middleware wo...
