Named License for DS/QS Designer

We are in the process of reviewing our client license policy for DS/QS designer clients. We currently have concurrent licenses housed on the server. We have multiple BUs who use the system and hence chargeback becomes a tricky point. Does IIS 9.1.2 support named licenses for DS/ QS designer clients....

We did a POC and we didn't find anything suggesting that it has to be purchased for any non-dev envts.

If I find anything more on this, i will update this post for sure.

Thanks for your feedback. Thats exactly where I stand now. I want to be very clear before I purchase the licenses. Hopefully someone with more experience with BO can answer this.

Re: Balanced Optimizer - Architecture Query

Thanks for the response. That was our initial thought as well, but when we reached out to the vendor to confirm the same, prior to purchasing the license, here is the response we got. Am I missing something here. Would I really need to have it on my Non-dev envts? "the generation of the Optimiz...

Balanced Optimizer - Architecture Query

We have decided to invest in the Balanced Optimizer for Datastage to help us pushdown DB level functions and utilize the underlying DBs like neteeza properly. In theory, we understand the following flow in using BO. 1. Design DS job in designer. 2. Open BO window from designer and generate the optim...

Julio, These cutoffs were defined based on the weights given for every criteria. I am not sure why when records aren't coming out as MATCH when the consolidated weight is greater than the cutoff. Is there anyway to turn on some kind of tracing on to determine the issue. I have about 40 other matches...

Multiple Instance of JOb starting...

Ernie, Here is the scenario that I am facing... I have 2 jobs JOB1 and JOB2, which have to be published as services S1 and S2 (using ISD). Service S1 (using JOB1) comes up as expected with only one instance of JOB1 active all the time. Service S2 (Using JOB2) comes up by bringing up an instance of J...

Unexpected output from MATCH Stage

I have a match stage where i block on VariableA and match based on VarB, VarC and VarD. I give a Agreement weight of 50 for each of the matches (b,c &D). The cut off for match is 149 / clerical 149 / Dups 150. I had my test data manufactured to pass this match and it came out as residual. When i...

Creating Webservice (WISD Job) with Array Input

I am creating a job which accepts multiple rows (variable --> candidate inforamtion for MATCH) and the output is expected to be the list of candidates which cross a certain MATCH cutoff (hence output is also going to be variable number of rows). I am trying to understand how this job can be publishe...

Are you using secure HTTP.. In that case make sure you install the certificates and also setup the stage to authenticate the same.

It should work fine.

Ernie, I have a QS Job that is opened up as a service using the mngr.cfg file. It is being used real time. The Java program calls the QS job as and when its needed. In short, we use QSRT and the jobs that have to be opened up as services and the ports where they have to be opened are specified in th...

Question regarding QS Migration

Hi, I came across your earlier posts regarding publishing job as a service and wanted to clarify my doubts with you. Currently I have a QS job and it is being used in a Java application. I bring up my program in Qualitystage using the following command: nohup qsrtmngr -c /opt/qsadm/Ascential/Quality...

STARTDATE TRUNC(SYSDATE-1) ENDDATE TRUNC(SYSDATE) does not work.. It gives out an error at the parameter declaration stage itself. I am using the same job parameters in many places in a number of jobs, so its highly important to automate it. To reiterate : the requirement is , having a job parameter...

Hi , I have to run an incremental load every day for the transactions for the previous day. STARTDATE and ENDDATE are two parameters, and basically, STARTDATE should be SYSDATE -1 and ENDDATE should be SYSDATE. Right now, everyday the two values are being fed in manually.
