Hierarchy stage not working with flash gone now

Does any have, or know of a solution to the lack of Flash Player and trying to edit Hieharchy stages? Our company has removed flash from all our machines. We are running Datastage 11.5, with no plans to upgrade to 11.7. I read something about a Harmon Plugin.... Harmon quoted me $25,000 for the Plug...

DS created database connections

Hi All, I'm getting complaints from my DBA about too many database connection being created in my jobs and slowing down the servers. I went through a number of steps that I thought might reduce this number: - swithced processing from Parralel to Sequential - reduced to one node in the config file We...

DS generating 25+GB of log files

So I have this Job that is filling up up the tmpspace with log files while the job is running, like 25+GB. I did have logging set to trace at one point, but have removed that. I've been searching for any other logging settings, and everything seem normal. I don't have access to the admin side, but o...

That's Awesome Ernie Thank you... it worked.

Now I need to figure out how to access and read the response, seems I can't have an output flow from the WS CLient.

Thoughts on that?

So a couple more questions around this. I've written code to create the entire XML body of the SOAP request, so now how do I send it to the WS Client stage, the stage wants individual fields, Name, Addy, Phone, etc, I just want to send it BODY. Also, is there a way to view the request that is being ...

Inputs/loading a SOAP webservice with multiple complex types

Hi all, I'm looking for some direction on inputs/loading a SOAP webservice with multiple complex types. I'm not quite sure how to explain this, so I'll use examples The Soap service takes this: Name Address Bank Name (unbounded/multiple) Account Num (unbounded/multiple) Balance I'm using a webservic...

resolved

So I just wanted to close this out. I was never able to find a reason for the job losing the recipient, so I completely removed the project on that server, recreated the job, and re-imported from DEV to TST. All is good now emails are sending fine. Never found out what the issue was but I'm all good...

Notification Activity Stage losing the Recipient??

Hey All looking for some advice on something. I've got a project where the recipient is being lost in the notification activity stage. Has anyone seen this? I have brought it down to a simple one stage job that sends an email. Weird thing is that the same simple job, works fine on other projects on ...

It's an oracle database, 12c, the field type is CLOB. The file format is simple text, and the samples I have are mostly under 200kb with a couple in the 1.5mb range. can't see them being more than 3-4mb. The format is fixed length records, DOS format I believe. Heres a quick sample, with the formatt...

Loading a full file into a field?

So I have a requirement to load a full file into the database. I've tried a couple different thoughts, first was to cat the file in a command stage, and use the result as a variable to insert into the database, but it seems like there's size limitation to that variable. Second thing I tried, was to ...

Easy way to do an update only when needed

so I`m a newbie with datastage, learning the ropes, so this might be a dumb question. Is there and easy way/stage to do this? So I want to insert new, and only update rows that have changed. Something like the SCD stage, but without the surrogate key. For simplicity sake, three fields: Key, Data, Mo...
