Re: Help, XML parsing warning

It seems like you are getting some hex value from source which your default NLS setting is unable to read it.default NLS setting will be UTF-8.This occurs because of two different code pages with source and Datastage and target.

I think hash partitioning is not required in any scenario.we do hash partitioning when we want to group similar keys in 1 node so as to apply remove dups.I dont think you have that case.so make the job simple and dont use hash partitioning at all any where in the job.as long as PK is satisfied at ta...

why did you go for hash partitioning in copy stage?
if A,B are primary keys in source,How can A alone can be primary key in target?

Ex:

Src:
A,B
1,2
1,3

Tgt:
A
1
1
This scenorio will fail at table level because we see dups in column A.I think you need to look at your requirement.

I think the explicit conversion has to take place.weather you do it in DS or in Oracle during insert. But check the default timestamp format in DS it is by default YYYY-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.its not an implicit conversion which can happen automatically.

You need to use transformer functions in order to meet your expectations. Data_i= 2013-01-15 Data_f= 2013-03-20 Last day of month function to get the last day for 2013-01-15.Put it in a stage variable and convert the last day and Data_i into Julian days and get the difference. It gives you the days ...

which method did you use while importing metadata(table def)?try to import metadata from connector wozard or orchestrate table def.this will rule out any possibility of data type compatibility issues.

What do you mean by create each row for each month?you mentioned two different dates so if the difference is 3 months do you want to create 3 records? Can you please let us know the actual problem you are facing with proper expectations of your requirement?

I believe it is a memory issue. What configeration are you using? What is the count of records which are flowing through reference? Are you doing an explicit sort before join stage? How are the cpu stats while you are running the job.

Possible Metadata linkage issue

Hello, We have imported jobs into prod environment from two lower environments(Dev,Dev1).We are planning to import the project from prod to Dev.If we do so does it affect the metadata linkage? Our concern is if it is affected we cannot identify the jobs which get affected due to metadata changes whic...

When datastage deleted the descriptor file and datafiles, does it directly deletes the files from its location or it moves the files in to some tmp space and deletes them?
