Hi, I am trying to pull the FLOAT column from my source (SQL SERVER) through DRS/ODBC connector. Value in source is '7.59999990463257'. But once I extract this value into dataset through datastage extraction job, I am able to see '7.6' if I use 'double' datatype. Busiess wants the complete value fro...

Read Windows File on Unix
Our datastage environment sits on a unix server and we are on version 9.1.2 now.
We have a requirement wherein we have to read a few excel sheets located on a Windows folder and load the data into oracle tables.
Was trying to find out if this is achievable and the best possible way to do it.
Thanks.

what is the best way to backup a 9.1.2 installation
what is the best way to backup a 9.1.2 installation in order to perform a fast restore? I am aware of two methods, use the recovery tool or manual backup. The IBM documentation implies that the recovery tool requires a full re-install of infosphere information server. This re-install sounds like it ...

Error While Reloading Oracle table with CLOB columns
We have a job that loads an Oracle table with two CLOB columns. The CLOB columns have been assigned LongVarchar datatype in the job. The Oracle connector stage uses run-time generated SQL and is set to load using the "Insert Then Update" mode. This job runs fine on the first run when the t...

We are trying to process an XML file using XML stage in Datastage 9.1 installed on UNIX server. We were able to successfully parse a sample xml file with the xsd that was provided along with that. We would like to know if there will be any validations performed with the input XML against the importe...

Maximum Size a Folder Stage can handle
What is the maximum file size that the Folder stage can process in the server job? Our application runs on Unix AIX 7.1 and we use Datastage version 9.1. One of the posts dating back to 2006 says that it varies with respect to OS and datastage version. Is this documented anywhere now? Our intention ...

Hi Craig, Thanks for your response. Well, the field which I read is a field where the user enters free text. So any type of text is expected. Even non printable characters are also expected in that filed. I have a custom function in the job to handle that non printable characters as well. I would be...
