3) I did not follow you on that one. If 100 records fail to insert, and peek stage is set to 10 with 4 nodes, I think you would get 4 peek entries in the job log with 10 rows in each, and you would not see the other 60 rejected rows. If each insert failure is logged as a warning and the job aborts a...

Have you compared any settings across servers, like the uvconfig file or the DataStage Administrator settings per project? If someone tweaked settings on Windows and you have default settings on Unix, seems like that is another factor that could slow down server jobs, not because of the OS difference.

I ran a test job just for kicks, so I can learn something too. Dataset w/ 10M rows -> Copy -> DB2 Connector (insert/replace). It's constrained to 2 nodes. One job has 13 columns defined and RCP disabled and the other job no columns defined and RCP enabled. I ran each job 3 times and on average each ...

I see ade files under /tmp on version 8.5 that correspond with stage types. For example: /tmp/ade.DS_project_name.ws_DS_job_name.1316215706774.isd_out It would appear to be coming from the ISD Output stage. For every web service job (parallel jobs) and every ISD Input and Output stage, I have an ade...

I can confirm on AIX 6.1 with jfs2 file system, I can only create 32765 subdirectories within each directory. The working example I gave is an ODBC to connect to SQL Server, not Access. For SQL Server, I've never had to add anything after the IP address except a comma then the port number for the database, but perhaps your SQL Server database is different. You could also try removing values from these lines...

It's been a while since accessing iSeries for me. I recall using a DataDirect ODBC driver called SequeLink ODBC, an add-on product, with the client on DataStage and server on AS/400. I think if you have DB2 Connect then you can use DB2 instead of ODBC.

I have the same question as above and also related to that, is there any flexibility to customize the canned reports? We don't want to dump a 500 page IA report onto the customer.

To clean up datasets, go under the menu (Tools, perhaps) for Dataset Management and delete using that interface. The DB2 errors given may indicate DB2 has a problem. To narrow it down, next time you get the error and before you restart the DataStage server, I would suggest running a same insert into...

That may depend on your requirements and definition on month: 28, 29, 30, or 31 days? How many months would you say are between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1? How many between Jan. 31 and Mar. 1? etc.
